Loving the Buzz for DotNetNuke Version 6

Geico Commercial Screen Shot: What? Do you live under a rock?
The image above is from a Geico Insurance commercial.

It’s been a long time.  It’s been a long time since the DotNetNuke community was this excited about anything, much less a new release.  The community hasn’t been sleeping or anything by any means, but the passion and amount of activity over the past few months has been incredibly higher than usual.  As it turns out, this is for a good reason.

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard that version 6 of DotNetNuke is right around the corner.  It’s so close, I am salivating thinking about it.  (If you don’t know, I am probably over-passionate about DNN – maybe to the point that I might need a support group.)

I have had the fortune of being able to download and install daily builds of the version 6 that you will eventually be able to use yourselves.  There are some differences between that and what you will see on the day of the release, but that’s for a later post by a different author.  However, this “fortune” has been equally met by “misfortune” because I still have to work with DNN 5.x in my production and demo websites.

I am just chomping at the bit to finally use DNN 6.0 on a production website!

Will Strohl: Spoon Fed DotNetNuke

In my day to day duties at DNN Corp, I have the pleasure of using and showing DotNetNuke to a wide variety of people all day long.  This is a dream come true.  But, it has been only bittersweet since I’ve been also using version 6.  Every time I move back to showing someone something on version 5.x or updating an existing site, I have to hold back from upgrading to the latest 6.0 release builds.

This is a great problem to have…  Don’t think I am whining.  I just want so badly for the release date to get here already!!!  I am so impatient for all of you to see the latest updates, and see what only the user groups have been able to see so far!  :)

Don’t just take my word for it though.  After all, I have been drinking the Kool-Aid long before I joined DNN Corp!  :D

Check out what others are saying about it!

I will have a video showing some live feedback resulting from a demonstration that I gave to the Orlando DotNetNuke Users Group and Dallas DotNetNuke User Group.  I should have it posted and announced later today, or tomorrow.
