Media Module: Do You Use the Media Alignment Setting?

There should be a new release of the Media Module submitted to the release tracker by the end of the month.  There are many really cool updates coming to this release, but I would very much like to remove a feature – that is, if it doesn’t have an adverse impact upon anyone that is currently using the module.

When you add or edit media in the Media Module, you would be using the Media Options view.  The very first setting that you have to manage is called "Media Alignment.”  Originally, this setting was added to allow you override the alignment that is defined in the container used on your module.  Even though the intent is well-founded, this doesn’t completely follow best practices or a standards-based approach.

I’d like to remove this feature, and potentially replace it with something more standards-friendly.  However, if the feature is well-used, then removing it would initially cause issues with those using the module.

In an attempt to get a better idea of how many people are actually using this setting, I have added a survey to the Media Module project homepage.  Please take a moment to vote to let me know if you use this setting or not.  Your feedback will have a direct impact on the next release.
