DotNetNuke Upgrade

I must say that I am thoroughly excited about the recent upgrades to DotNetNuke to bring us to version 4.05.00.  There are a great many updates that address functionality and usability.  Great job, Core Team!

Due to this, I decided that there was no further testing required to begin updating my portals (yes, I have many of them).  I am proud to say that this site is now using DotNetNuke v 4.05.00.

Some of the features that I like right off of the top of my head are:

  • The inclusion of the FCKeditor (and it being the default editor - though I am missing the link pop-up allowing me to choose URLs from the Links Modules)
  • The optional control panel view
  • The clearing up of the "view" and "edit" page viewing (that was a HUGE PAIN to explain to people when training new "users") - the radio buttons and labeling really should clear some things up
  • The AJAX-style editing of module titles and the Text/HTML Module text is SO MUCH more user-friendly!!!  I knew this one was coming, but it couldn't have come fast enough.

There are many more updates throughout the core of DNN v4.05.00, including some nice features done in the admin and host areas, but I will leave that for another time.  I wanted to be brief.  :)

Have a great day!
