Day of DotNetNuke Speakers: One Day Left!

Day of DotNetNuke® We have had many great submissions to the Day of DotNetNuke® speaker pool.  Many of those submissions are from some fantastic speakers!  However, we are also looking for the lesser known and local speakers.  Many of the topics submitted so far are very great, but we are also looking for some more general topics, such as using the DNN Core Modules.

We would love to see new faces and community members taking the plunge and speaking for the first time.  Believe me, no one will make fun of you.  Community events are perfect for first time speakers, because your session attendees are normally more than willing to help you out when things go wrong.  It happens all of the time…

Who can be a speaker?

  • Local community members
  • First-time speakers
  • Local user group members
  • Professional & veteran speakers
  • ANYONE!

Basically, we want anyone that has something interesting to talk about.  Our only restriction is that your demos must use the DotNetNuke® version 5 series.

Why be a Speaker?

  • Promote yourself
  • Promote your company
  • Show off your cool new ideas and code
  • Release a cool new module or skin
  • Get public or technical speaking practice
  • Conquer your fear of public speaking
  • Rub elbows with Joe Brinkman, our Keynote Speaker
  • Give back to the community that gives to you

Anyone can be a speaker for any number of reasons.  Maybe you just want to try out speaking for the first time, to see if it is something that you are interested in.  That’s what these types of events are for.

What do Speakers get?

As with anything else, you get out of this what you put into it.  But we try to help speakers by offering the following incentives:

  • A super cool new polo shirt that no one else will have
  • A fun and FREE Pre-Party for Sponsors, Speakers, and Volunteers only
  • A chance for you to try out a new session
  • Opportunities to reach out to your fellow community members
  • Unlimited plugs for you and your blog
  • Unlimited pats on the back, and “atta boys”
  • A fun-filled day or day(s) in beautiful Tampa, Florida
  • Great excuse to take a vacation with the Misses or Mister
  • Get a tan the day after (only if you’re not going to the Engage Workshop)
  • Practice your OpenForce 09 session, and get the kinks out of it

That’s about it.  We look forward to your sessions.  Whether we are meeting you for the first time, or you’re dropping by again for another visit, we cannot want to see you!
