The next ODUG meeting is being held on Thursday, March 5th, 2009. As always, the ODUG meetings are 100% free for you to attend. Even the parking is free! What's more, we have door prizes. Some of the door prizes are worth over $1,000!
I am very excited to say that this meeting is being sponsored by INETA, and they are flying in Chris Hammond to speak to the ODUG!
If you live under a rock, or you are not familiar with DotNetNuke, you may not be familiar who Chris Hammond is. Chris is a DotNetNuke Core Team Member, VP of Training at Engage Software, founder of the St. Louis DNN User Group, DotNetNuke User's Guide author, and the creator of many DotNetNuke and .Net community services, as well as an avid blogger. Some of the community services include DotNetNukeBlogs.com, and the Shift8Read Community Credit Module. Oh yeah, he races cars too. One of his previous cars even had DotNetNuke branding on it.
I think that pretty much shows that he knows a thing or two about DotNetNuke. ;)
So what will he be talking about? Chris will be presenting, Scenario-Based Usages of the New Features in DotNetNuke 5. If you cannot tell by the title alone, this is a meeting for all DNN folks to attend. It is not a developer or skinner session. So, if you only use DNN, this is a perfect meeting for you to attend! Here is the official session description:
There has been a lot of talk about new features and functionality in DotNetNuke 5.0, but it is not always easy to understand how these new features may apply to your website. This session will cover a wide variety of the new features, and how they apply directly to various scenarios for DNN based websites. See the new features as they were meant to be used.
Be sure to bring your friends, but above all, please make sure that you register for the meeting. That is HIGHLY important! If you do not register, we will not have enough food and drinks for everyone. Which brings me to the next point...
Our food and beverage sponsor this month is once again a tandem sponsorship by VACO Technology and Cafe Tu Tu Tango. They do an incredible job of sponsoring the ODUG meetings. I cannot thank them enough.
If you don't already know, Cafe Tu Tu Tango has some outstanding food. Pizza doesn't hold a candle to what they bring in for us.
As always, we also continue to have our after meeting social. More information about the social, and the meeting venue can be found on our website.
If you have never been to one of our ODUG meetings, this is the meeting that you need to come to. Not only do you get door prizes, great food, and excellent content, but you also have the chance to connect to others who also use DotNetNuke. As our founder, Brian Scarbeau says, "It is so important to have a 'DotNetNuke friend'."
I sincereley hope that you can make this meeting. If you work in a business that uses DotNetNuke, bring your content managers, your developers, and your skinners. Chris brings a wealth of knowledge that you will all be able to take advantage of.
