My Sons Chargers Room

A while back, I posted some pictures and information on how I painted my sons room, using the San Diego Chargers as inspiration. This was a long and tedious task, but it was very fun. I especially feel relaxed when painting, whereas I know many people who cannot stand doing it. I have since gotten some inquiries, comments, and e-mails wanting to know what the final room looked like. Unfortunately, I had procrastinated a lot in getting his room 100% finished. Between work, and everything else, the touch ups that were needed never were made. However, I did manage to take a few pictures before disassembling his room for our move – but not before some of the things were taken off of the walls.
Getting the Paint
Before we get to those pictures though, I thought that I’d post to you the colors I used. If you use Glidden, the official Chargers colors are already pre-determined. No color matching or other steps necessary. However, we insisted on using Behr paint. Mostly on my (non-expert) opinion that it’s a better brand of paint. This meant that we needed to figure out the colors. This was a long process. We ended up bringing most of our fan gear in to try and get the right colors mixed. Some items were faded, and others weren’t officially licensed, so there were a few hoops there. In the end though, we were able to leave with some samples of the Chargers light blue, dark blue, and yellow. Once we tested them on the walls to see how they’d look when dry, we were sold.
Here are the colors (with pics):
Light Blue
| CLRNT | D | E | KX | L |
_OZ_ 384th | 0 55 | 6 286 | 6 279 | 0 21 |
Yellow
Dark Blue
| CLRNT | C | E | V | |
_OZ_ 394th | 0 192 | 7 352 | 2 320 | |
From there, the painting experience is pretty much the same as you’re used to, except for the designs that I managed to flush out. I spoke about those in my previous post, so I won’t do it again this time.
The “Final” Pictures
Here are the final pictures. Some of the items are missing though. For example, his LT poster, Chargers Fan Zone sign, and other stuff like that. You will see in the pictures though, that I didn’t get to a couple of the touch ups. For example, in the white part of the bolt, you’ll see where I smudged my hand there when I tried to catch myself during painting. :D

Re: My Sons Chargers Room
Love the room. We are getting ready to do our son's room in a Charger's theme as well. Thanks for posting the Behr equivalent colors. We're sold on Behr as well.
Thanks again and great job. I hope your son appreciates how much time and effort went into pulling this off.
All best, Lisa

Thanks for the kind words, Lisa. He certainly does appreciate it. You've never seen a Chargers fan in such a small body. :D
