On Thursday, March 12th at 6:30 PM, I will be speaking to the Space Coast SQL Server User Group in Melbourne, Florida.  They are a very new user group.  With my visting being only their second meeting, I was impressed to find out that their first meeting had 18 attendees!  That's outstanding.  The last OPASS (Orlando SQL user group) meeting I attended had about the same number, and they are in a more metropolitan area, with a high profile leader and a long running relationship with the local community.

They are still new, so a real website is in the works, provided by PASS.  Here is what they are using in the meantime:

So What Will The Session Be About?

You just know that whatever I do, I will be working in DotNetNuke.  However, I also needed to tailor this session to the audience which is mostly SQL Server developers.  This session is titled, Managing DotNetNuke Using SQL Server.

Here is the session description:

If you have ever managed a DotNetNuke website, you know that the user interface just sometimes doesn't cut it.  There are times in any database-driven website where the changes can be made faster and easier by just going directly to the database.  This session will show you some of the more common techniques that can be used to safely make changes to your DotNetNuke website.

I hope to see plenty of people show up.  This is the first time that I will be publically be giving this session.  You'd be surprised at how easy it is to make changes in the back-end of DotNetNuke, while not making any core changes.

Here is the meeting information:
