DotNetNuke Google Appliance Search Provider

I have begun writing what I hope is to become a Google Appliance Search Provider for DotNetNuke. I have looked (Googled) for such a provider for several weeks now so that I might save some development time, but no such luck yet. The good thing is that I will be able to make this provider do what I want it to from the beginning. :)

I have only a couple requirements written out for myself for this project so far. One, it needs to be able to plug-in to use the extensibility and portability of DotNetNuke. Second, it needs to be able to accept a collections parameter. Ugh!

If you have any ideas or suggestions for me while I work on this, let me know. In the meantime, please know that I plan on making this available for free to non-profit 501(c)(3) institutions and K-12 schools once I get this done. Have a good one!

Re: DotNetNuke Google Appliance Search Provider

We have been searching for a way to implement our Google Appliance into our new dotnetnuke site, but have been unable to do so successfully. Did you ever finish the plugin?

Re: DotNetNuke Google Appliance Search Provider

Unfortunately, no. However, I have successfully built and implemented many other providers. The problem found with the Google Appliance when integrating into DNN was with translating the search results. It was just very time consuming. With 1-2 developers dedicated to the project, writing a working custom search provider that interfaces with the Google Appliance should only take 1-2 weeks.
